Field Name Description

PS Parameters Savable. Not supported; must be 0.

Additional Page Length This field indicates the number of bytes in the page. Note that this

value does not include bytes 0 and 1. The length is returned on

MODE SENSE and must subsequently be set to the same value when

performing MODE SELECT.

Maximum Additional

Partitions

Not supported. Must be 0.

Additional Partitions

Defined

This field specifies the number of additional partitions to be defined

for the tape based on the settings of the SDP and IDP bits. The

maximum allowed is the value returned in the Maximum Additional

Partitions field. Since only one partition is supported, this field must

be 0.

FDP Fixed Data Partitions. Must be 0.

SDP Select Data Partitions. Must be 0.

IDP Initiator Defined Patrons. Must be 0.

PSUM Partition Size Unit of Measure. Must be 0.

Medium Format

Recognition

Set to 01h, indicating that automatic format recognition is

supported.
