96 Using the Menus

Export Media

Export allows you to move a data or cleaning tape cartridge from the source slot you choose to the I/E slot.

This allows you to remove a tape from the library without opening the front door. If the I/E slot is configured

as a storage slot, you are not able to export data cartridges. For more information on configuring the I/E slot,

refer to Configure I/E Slot

on page 76.

You can use the Move Media command to export data cartridges when the I/E slot is configured as a data

slot. For more information, refer to Move Media

on page 99.

7 Press to move to next field.

8 Press and to set the maximum

number of times the cleaning tape can be

used.

For SDLT media, the maximum number of

uses is 20. Specify a different number, if you

wish to restrict the number of times this

cleaning cartridge is to be used.

9 Press to highlight Execute ( ) and

then press .

The cleaning cartridge is imported to the first

available cleaning slot.

10 A confirmation screen displays. Press

to dismiss.
